Last updated 2 October 2026. Short version: what you type stays in your browser. Classic Notepad has no accounts and no servers that store notes.
Classic Notepad Chrome extension
The side panel extension collects no data at all.
- Your notes are saved only in the extension's own local browser storage on your device. They are never transmitted, synced or shared, including with this website.
- The extension contains no analytics, tracking, advertising or remote code. It makes no network requests of its own.
- It requests a single permission,
sidePanel, so it can open in Chrome's side panel. It cannot read or change the pages you visit. - Uninstalling the extension deletes its stored notes.

- Notes you write on the website are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They are never uploaded.
- The website uses Google Tag Manager to measure aggregate, anonymous usage such as page views. This may set cookies in your browser. It never includes the text of your notes. You can block it with any standard content blocker and the notepad keeps working.
